La Riviera Gourmet cafe at 390 Washington St., stated on its Facebook page in mid-July that it would be closing the cafe for part of the summer, re-opening on Aug. 24, but continuing to cater.
But Aug. 24 has come and gone and the cafe remains closed. Responses to our inquiries to La Riviera via its social media pages indicate that the cafe is not re-opening but that the business will continue to offer catering services to some local schools and the Council on Aging.
The restaurant’s website offers patrons no explanation of what’s become of the cafe, and as a result, people like us have been fielding questions…
