According to a Boston Business Journal report based on state data, Wellesley public school teachers made an average of $93,536 during the 2016 fiscal year, good for 8th place in Massachusetts. I’ve spared you the torture of going through the BBJ’s obnoxious slideshow to fetch this data.
For 2015, Wellesley ranked #14 with an average salary of $90,041.
For 2016, Wellesley finished just ahead of Wayland and just behind Brookline in the rankings, with Carlisle topping the list at a $100,803 average salary (it had just 54 teachers during the measurement period).
The average pay for teachers across the state rose from $74,785 to $76,479 in fiscal year 2016, according to the BBJ report.
