Wellesley High grad honored at Newport Jazz Festival

Jeffrey Pinsker-Smith, Newport Jazz Festival New Wellesley High School graduate Jeffrey Pinsker-Smith was presented with the 2017 George Wein Jazz Ambassador Scholarship during his performance at the Newport Jazz Festival on Sunday, Aug. 6.

The $5K award to the University of Rochester-bound student recognizes musical ability as well as strong academic achievement and a commitment to giving back to the community.

(I can also vouch for Jeffrey as a nice kid who can hit a baseball very hard.)
