Arrests
On Friday, October 11, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. Officer Misho was conducting traffic enforcement on Worcester Street at Bancroft Road when he observed an Acura SUV and conducted a random query of the vehicle’s registration. The query showed that the vehicle was not properly inspected and the registered owner’s license was suspended. Officer Misho stopped the vehicle and spoke with the operator and owner, who was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and transported to Dedham District Court.
On Friday, November 1, 2024, at 4:33 a.m. Officer Carr was conducting traffic enforcement on Worcester Street near Cliff Road when he observed a Honda sedan with heavily tinted windows pass his location. He conducted a query of the registration which showed the vehicle was not properly inspected. He stopped the vehicle and spoke with the operator, and requested her driver’s license and the vehicle registration. She provided Officer Carr with her driver’s license but was unable to find the vehicle’s registration. Officer Carr queried the operator’s information and learned there was an active straight warrant for her arrest for motor vehicle related offenses that had been issued on October 23rd. She was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and released on personal recognizance.
On November 2, 2024, at 1:35 a.m. while conducting security checks of the businesses he heard a car horn sounding, and his attention was drawn to a vehicle traveling west in the eastbound lane on Worcester Street. The vehicle passed several side streets and continued to travel in the wrong direction. The vehicle eventually turned into a parking lot on Worcester Street. Officer Wagner spoke with the operator, and immediately detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the driver. The officer observed the drivers’ eyes to be bloodshot and watery and there was significant damage to the front end of the vehicle that appeared to be new damage. The operator was afforded the opportunity to perform some reasonable tests of balance and coordination. He was unable to successfully complete these tests. He was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and later released on personal recognizance.
On November 16, 2024 at 2:21 a.m. Sgt. Lemenager was traveling on Central Street when he observed a Subaru Outback fail to stop for a stop sign on Cross Street at Central Street. He stopped the vehicle and spoke with the operator. While speaking with the driver, Sgt. Lemenager detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person. He was afforded the opportunity to take some reasonable tests of balance and coordination. He was unable to successfully complete these tests. He was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and later released on personal recognizance.
Incidents
On October 1, 2024, at 9:40 a.m. an officer spoke to a female reporting party who fell victim to an email scam where she received an electronic invitation from Punchbowl. The reporting party was familiar with the name on the invitation, so she opened it and entered her information as requested. Shortly thereafter Punchbowl began sending invitations to people on her contact list that appeared to have been sent by her but were not sent by her. The reporting party has not noticed any suspicious activity with her bank accounts or credit cards. She was advised to continue monitoring this information
and she stated she would.
On October 2, 2024, at 10:31 a.m. an officer was dispatched to a bank for a counterfeit $20 bill. The bank manager showed the officer the $20 bill that he suspected was counterfeit and indicated that their internal fraud department would handle the investigation and would forward the bill to the Secret Service as well.
On October 2, 2024, an officer was dispatched to a store on Worcester Street for a report of a suspicious male party. The store employees reported that on several occasions the male party would walk around the store and stare at them making them feel uncomfortable. The male party was issued a letter of no trespass and advised he was not welcome to return to the store.
On October 2, 2024, at 3:28 p.m. an officer spoke to a male reporting party who stated that an iPhone 16 that was delivered by FedEx to his residence was stolen after it was delivered, and he had security video of the theft. A contractor who was at the residence at the same time provided a description of a male party wearing a ski mask and that he got into what he believed to be a Honda Civic.
On October 3, 2024, at 8:11 a.m. Officer Cunningham spoke with a male party who stated an iPhone 16 was delivered by FedEx to his residence. He observed on his ring camera that a male party walked to his doorstep and took the package the previous day. The video showed a male party wearing red pants and a white hooded jacket take the package and then get into a small black sedan and leave the area.
On October 4, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. an officer was dispatched to a residence for a well- being check of an elderly resident at the request of her physician’s office. The officer noticed while speaking with her that she was having some memory issues and needed some assistance. The officer spoke with our social worker and made contact with Springwell Elder Services.
On October 5, 2024, at 9:42 p.m. an officer was dispatched to a residence for a medical related call. Upon the officer’s arrival he learned there were underaged youths that had consumed alcohol. One of the youths experienced a medical emergency unrelated to alcohol consumption. The homeowner was present in the home when the youths were consuming alcohol and will be summonsed to Dedham District Court for Furnishing Alcoholic Beverages to Minors.
On October 6, 2024, at 4:15 p.m. officers were dispatched to a business on Central Street for a report of a shoplifting that had just occurred. A store employee stated that a female party had entered the store, walked around for approximately 10 minutes and then fled the store into a blue Mazda sedan with 5 items valued at $450. The store employee stated the female party got into the passenger seat and a male party was driving the vehicle.
On October 8, 2024, at 9:55 a.m. an officer spoke with a female reporting party who stated she was notified by her bank that a check that was presented to the bank for her account appeared to have been altered. The payee on the check had been altered. The bank declined payment of the check and closed the reporting party’s account. The check had been mailed at the Grove Street Post Office on September 28th or 29th . The mailboxes at the Grove Street Post Office were broken into on September 30th overnight.
On October 9, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. an officer spoke with a female party regarding fraudulent activity. The reporting party stated the bookkeeper for the reporting party’s company responded to an email request to pay an invoice in the amount of $36,000 which was a fraudulent request. The bank was unable to reverse the wire transaction. The incident is under investigation.
On October 9, 2024, at 7:49 p.m. an officer was dispatched to a restaurant on Central Street for an unwanted party. The reporting party stated a female customer attempted to purchase a drink at the restaurant and was denied and asked to leave the restaurant. The female party refused to leave the restaurant. An officer spoke with the female party who indicated she was attempting to order an Uber, and she was asked to wait outside. The female party was unable to order an Uber and was provided a ride home.
On October 10, 2024, at 6:31 a.m. an officer spoke with a male party regarding a vehicle that had been stolen from his driveway on the Ledgeways. The vehicle was described as a 2023 Audi Q5 and video footage shows that 3 masked men entered the vehicle, started it and left the area. The vehicle was recovered by the Boston Police Department on November 9, 2024, and returned to the owner.
On October 10, 2024, a female reporting party stated she received a phone call from a woman claiming to be from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The reporting party felt the call was unusual because she is a US citizen. She then received a call from a male party who stated he was a Natick Police Officer and there was a warrant for her arrest. The reporting party did not provide any funds to the callers but did provide some personal information. The reporting party froze her credit with Equifax, Transunion and Experian as a precaution.
On October 11, 2024, at 8:45 a.m. an officer spoke with a male reporting party who is on the executive board of a non-profit organization that is based in Wellesley. He stated an unknown individual had opened a bank account using their organization’s name and tax ID number and had somehow fraudulently transferred $30,000 from one of their legitimate bank accounts. The reporting party went to the bank and requested a compromised account status that would require approval for any banking transactions.
On October 18th the officer received an email from the reporting party saying that another fraudulent banking transaction had occurred. The reporting party contacted the bank and learned the compromised account status request had failed. The bank refunded the lost monies.
On October 11, 2024, at 1:14 p.m. an officer spoke with a female reporting party regarding check fraud. The female party stated she mailed a check in a blue mailbox located at the intersection of Church Street and Washington Street in early October. The check was originally made out in the amount of $175.50 and had been washed and rewritten in the amount of $14,550. The reporting party contact her bank and reported the fraud. The bank advised she would be reimbursed for the withdrawn amount. The officer reminded the reporting party that mailbox thefts continue to occur from the blue mailboxes, and it is best to mail items from inside the post office.
On October 11, 2024, at 1:57 p.m. an officer was dispatched to a business on Central Street for a report of a past shoplifting where two females entered the store and stole at least 9 items valued at over $1,000. The store employee stated one of the two parties had also returned approximately $800 in merchandise that they did not have a receipt for. The store employee stated that it is store policy to request an ID when items are returned without a receipt, but it is also store policy not to share that information with the police. There are no suspects at this time.
On October 12, 2024, at 8:53 a.m. an officer spoke with a reporting party that stated they had received several applications for credit cards that had not been requested. The reporting party was able to cancel all of the credit cards and put a freeze on her credit.
On October 12, 2024, at 5:45 p.m. an officer spoke with a female reporting party who had lost funds with a ticket scam. The reporting party stated she responded to an Instagram post of purchase a concert ticket and was advised to purchase Razor Gold gift cards and provided the gift card information to the individual selling the concert ticket. The reporting party never received the concert ticket and filed a fraud report with Amazon in addition to reporting the incident to the police.
On October 14, 2024, at 4:50 p.m. an officer spoke with a male reporting party regarding a bicycle that had been stolen at the Wellesley Hills train station. The officer was able to review traffic camera footage and security footage from a local business and observed an unknown male party riding on the bicycle around 12:30 p.m. He was unable to identify the male party.
