The Wellesley Choral Society, under the direction of Edward Whalen, will present its second concert of the 2024-2025 season on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 7pm at the Wellesley Hills Congregational Church, 207 Washington St.
The theme of the concert is “True Colors”—all music will have a color in the title or lyrics. The music performed will be a mix of movie, television, and Broadway themes, light classical, and popular songs. Choral Society members will be highlighted as soloists and in small ensembles. The group will be accompanied on piano by Hisako Hiratsuka.
The event is in the style of a casual pops/cabaret performance. The audience is seated at tables and there will be complimentary food and drink, a silent auction, and a sing-along. The Wellesley Hills Congregational Church is accessible and there is ample free parking in the church lot and on the street.
Tickets may be purchased at the door: general admission is $20, seniors and students $15, ages 12 and under are free. A limited number of free tickets for Wellesley seniors are available at the Council of Aging (call the Wellesley COA to express interest at 781-235-3961). Items acquired in the silent auction can be paid for via cash or check.
