Deland, Gibson Insurance marks 125 years
Deland, Gibson Insurance Associates this year is celebrating its 125th anniversary.
The business was started in Boston in 1900 as The Deland Insurance Agency by Charles E. Deland. Leadership has passed through four generations of the family. The Gibson in the company name comes from George Gibson, Deland’s nephew, taking over in 1935 and leading the agency until 1986, when his son Charlie took the reins. Currently, Chip and Ted Gibson lead the firm.
Deland opened its Wellesley office in the mid-1980s
Deland, Gibson has established a reputation for supporting the communities it serves via its Giving Committee.
Today, Deland, Gibson serves clients from five locations—Wellesley, Duxbury, Dennis Port, Franklin, and Worcester—with a team of over 90 employees.
The company will be sharing memories, client testimonials, employee spotlights, and more across its social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook) using #DG125.

Mona Dermatology headed to Wellesley Square
Mona Dermatology, which currently offers its medical services and skin products out of Cincinnati, is readying to move into the former Coldwell Banker spot at 71 Central St. (the realtor has moved across the street).
The company had a designer in front of the Wellesley Design Review Board (see Wellesley Media recording) this past week to get the OK on signage.
Dr. Mona Foad has been leading the business since 2002.
We’ve reached out to the company for comment, and will update this post if we hear back.
