Submit your event/s here. Note that we limit event listings mainly to free or inexpensive public events in Wellesley, such as talks, films, theatre productions, concerts, etc. This is not a place for businesses to promote themselves, their classes, etc. Please don’t submit events that run for weeks and weeks. We approve event listings before they go live, typically within 24 hours.
No business sales, trunk shows, etc. (those would be paid advertisements). Please go easy on the ALL CAPS, exclamation points!!!!, etc.
We also appreciate any contributions to support our independent journalism venture.

DESCRIPTION: Brooks Fenno is a seasoned marketing professional with a 40-year career managing a specialty marketing consulting firm, SALESMARK, which served over 250 clients worldwide, from China to Germany. Now, in his octogenarian years, Brooks has transitioned into a second career as a reflective author, sharing insights gained from his personal journey through senior living.
His third book, A Purposeful Life: Ages 80, 90, & Beyond, offers a unique perspective on living a meaningful and active life in the later stages. Written as a fourth-quarter personal experiential summary, the book combines four essential life factors—physical, mental, social, and spiritual—into a framework for achieving purposeful accomplishments.
Unlike clinical or academic texts, Brooks writes from the perspective of a layman, offering relatable and practical advice. The book features approximately 45 suggested activities to inspire readers to continue exploring life, engage with the world, and find purpose, rather than retreating into past memories.
Through his lectures, Brooks shares his theory of purposeful living, emphasizing an active, positive lifestyle grounded in ongoing projects and meaningful engagement. His personal experiences as an elderly resident provide a valuable lens through which others can navigate their own paths in the fourth quarter of life.
Brooks’s presentation promises to be thought-provoking and inspiring for audiences interested in exploring new ways to approach aging with energy, purpose, and fulfillment.
