Submit your event/s here. Note that we limit event listings mainly to free or inexpensive public events in Wellesley, such as talks, films, theatre productions, concerts, etc. This is not a place for businesses to promote themselves, their classes, etc. Please don’t submit events that run for weeks and weeks. We approve event listings before they go live, typically within 24 hours.
No business sales, trunk shows, etc. (those would be paid advertisements). Please go easy on the ALL CAPS, exclamation points!!!!, etc.
We also appreciate any contributions to support our independent journalism venture.
Thanks, Deborah & Bob

THE ELEMENTS OF MARIE CURIE: How the Glow of Radium Lit a Path for Women in Science
Marie Curie (1867-1934) remains the only female scientist most people can name and is the sole Nobel laureate decorated in two separate fields of science—Physics in 1903 with her husband Pierre and Chemistry by herself in 1911. Dava Sobel, award-winning and international bestselling author of Longitude and Galileo’s Daughter, has crafted a luminous chronicle of the life and work of the most famous woman in the history of science, and the untold story of the many young women trained in her laboratory who were launched into stellar scientific careers of their own. Dava Sobel lives on Long Island.

THE MESMERIST: A Novel
Before hypnotism, there was Mesmerism. In 1894 Minneapolis, in the wake of a national financial crisis, spiritualism of every stripe is all the rage, and women at brothels are dying under mysterious circumstances. Three tenacious women at the transformational Bethany Home for Unwed Mothers work together to stop a killer and save the truest home they’ve ever known. Inspired by a true crime, this haunting novel showcases “fastidious historical detail, expert suspense, and indelible characterizations….Readers will be up all night.” (Publishers Weekly, starred review) Caroline Woods lives near Chicago.
