Electric vehicle (EV) charger stations are devices that provide electric energy to plug-in electric vehicles, including battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. EV charger stations can be found in a variety of locations in Wellesley, including public parking garages, workplaces, and retail stores.
Wellesley’s newest EV charging station
Electric Vehicle (EV) owners starting June 2024 can use two new Level 3 fast charging stations recently installed at the Wellesley Municipal Light Plant (WMLP), 4 Municipal Way.
Level 3 chargers (often called DC chargers) are much faster than Level 1 and Level 2 chargers and can often fully charge an EV in under an hour.
Each station has two different charging cords and is designed to charge at 100 Kilowatts (KW).
Payments must be made using the FLO EV Charging app which can be downloaded from either the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
As approved by the WMLP Board, the charging per kilowatt hour fees are based on the time of day. Pricing information here.
