The Wellesley Historical Society kicks off its 2018-2019 lecture series with a talk on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 2pm by Dr. Robert Savage, a retired surgeon and local art historian who will discuss the life and art of Mary Brewster Hazelton (1868-1953).
The works of Hazelton, a lifelong Wellesley resident and prominent Boston artist in the early 20th century, include the portrait of Horatio Hollis Hunnewell on display in the lobby of the Wellesley Main Library, the murals in the Wellesley Hills Congregational Church, and a collection of 60 paintings at the Wellesley Historical Society.
The talk is co-hosted by Council on Aging and will be held at Wellesley Free Library.

I am undertaking research on American Women Artists and have a notation that Mary Brewster Hazleton created a mural for the Wellesley Hills Congregational Church (now UCC). Please let me know whether you have any knowledge of this mural.
Thank you,
Marianne
