Registration has opened for the annual Wellesley Turkey Trot, slated to take place on Thanksgiving morning (Nov. 28) in Linden Square. Discounted pricing is available through the end of Oct.
Several thousand people take part in this tradition, which supports the Wellesley Turkey Trot Foundation. The non-profit, established in 2015, benefits local organizations, including those focused on medical research.
The Turkey Trot includes an open 5K race that starts and ends in Linden Square, traversing through Wellesley Square and the Wellesley College campus. Numerous prizes are awarded.
A separate kids race, the Hannah Randolph Fun Run, is for those age 10 and under circles around Roche Bros. and CVS (limited to 300 runners).
A plaque honoring the late Carol Chaoui, founder of the Turkey Trot, is located near the 5K race start/finish.
