World of Wellesley (WOW) will hold its annual community book read event on Sunday, Nov. 3, 3pm – 5pm, at Tishman Commons, on the campus of Wellesley College.
In Dr. Joy Buolamwini’s book, Unmasking AI: My Mission to Protect What is Human in a World of Machines, she describes what she calls “the coded gaze.” Her research has found evidence of encoded discrimination and exclusion in tech products.
Hear from a panel of Artificial Intelligence experts including a Boston Globe journalist, a Wellesley High School student, a Wellesley College professor, and an AI developer.
What do we need to know about this fast-moving technology? How can we benefit from AI and also build equity into innovation?
