Submit your event/s here. Note that we limit event listings mainly to free or inexpensive public events in Wellesley, such as talks, films, theatre productions, concerts, etc. This is not a place for businesses to promote themselves, their classes, etc. Please don’t submit events that run for weeks and weeks. We approve event listings before they go live, typically within 24 hours.
No business sales, trunk shows, etc. (those would be paid advertisements). Please go easy on the ALL CAPS, exclamation points!!!!, etc.
We also appreciate any contributions to support our independent journalism venture.
Thanks, Deborah & Bob
Wellesley Cotillion
February 1, 2025 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm
The Wellesley Cotillion, the town’s annual formal winter dance for high school juniors and seniors, this year is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 1 from 7:30-10:30pm at the Verve Hotel in Natick.
Tickets should be purchased by Jan. 10 and financial help is available to ensure anyone who wants to attend can do so. (Invites have been sent; if you didn’t get one, just go to the Cotillion website to buy tickets.)
The Cotillion is open to all juniors and seniors who reside in Wellesley, and to all juniors & seniors who attend Wellesley High School—the volunteer committee organizing the event can always use help spreading the word to students at private schools.
Speaking of volunteers, plenty are needed, so if interested please sign up.
The Cotillion tradition began in the 1940s as “The Christmas Cotillion,” offering a forum for students to practice their manners and dancing skills.
Students today are asked to dress for the special occasion, go through the traditional receiving line, greet parent chaperones, and introduce their dates. Typically, about 600 students attend.
Snacks and drinks will be served, but not full meals. Students must arrive and leave the venue via chartered buses (more rules to know).
