WellesleyWeston Magazine gets a new neighbor: Newton Living

September 27, 2011 by Bob Brown 1 Comment

Wellesley and Weston have had a shiny lifestyle magazine called WellesleyWeston for a few years, and now Newton has one of its own called Newton Living (you can flip through the first issue here).

Newton Living

The bimonthly magazine, arriving in  mailboxes this week, is headed by John Sisson, who has worked for the past couple of years on a coalition called Newton Villages designed to keep or make Newton a better place to live and work (we’re now seeing residents and businesses in Wellesley trying to do something likewise to revitalize Wellesley Square). Sisson’s aim is for the magazine to be not just a fun lifestyle magazine, but to stand apart for its hard-hitting journalism as well. The magazine highlights the people of “the Garden City,” but also businesses, places to eat and the outdoors.

While Sisson is keeping a serious focus on Newton, Wellesley does get a little mention in the first issue in a profile on State Rep. Kay Kahn, who has championed the restoration of several foot bridges across the Charles River, including the one in Lower Falls between Newton and Wellesley near the Waterstone at Wellesley senior living facility that’s going up.

the print is so small that even with a mag-
mugging glass one could not read it. If it
is meant to be read and not just to look
at the pictures then you best make the
    print bigger.
