Much fuss was made of the Mass DOT’s July 4th weekend destruction/replacement of the Cedar Street/Rte. 9 bridge.
But one lingering question we had: Does the bridge get a fancy new name, like the Rte. 16/9 bridge did last year (in honor of lawyer/ex-state senator David Locke)?
At least for now, the answer from the Selectmen’s office is: Nope.
Not that this is anything too unusual, since the Locke bridge seems to be the exception rather than the rule in terms of named bridges in town.
Dr Jeff says
A bridge must be under construction for at least 3 years before it can be named.
