LINX Camps of Wellesley has announced it is teaming up with the Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity (METCO), to provide free summer camp to 30 Boston children who would not otherwise be able to afford or arrange to attend.
METCO has been celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and numerous related activities have been taking place in Wellesley (including a talk at Wellesley High Thursday night, March 30)
“Parents call me all the time for camps and programs,” says Deborah Ward, student services manager at METCO. “They are looking to have their kids outdoors to have fun and destress after a long school year. This partnership will help keep kids engaged in a learning and safe environment.”
LINX owner and founder Joe Kahn says the outfit seeks to have a diverse group of campers and counselors.
