Wellesley will hold its annual Flag Day event on Sunday, June 14 at 1 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery (148 Brook Street).
This is an annual ceremony to retire and appropriately dispose of worn and tattered American flags. Flag Day has been celebrated as a patriotic occasion since 1916.
Worn or no longer usable flags may be dropped off this week at the following locations in Wellesley:
- Town Hall West Lobby (525 Washington Street)
- Council on Aging entrance (500 Washington Street)
- Wellesley Recycling and Disposal Facility (RDF) at the clothing & textiles recycling area
To allow time for collection, all flags must be dropped off by Thursday, June 11.
