Wellesley native and WHS Class of 1994 grad Nicholas Soutter has published a new novel called “The Water Thief” that he describes as “a dystopian novel as a counter to Ayn Rand’s ‘Atlas Shrugged,’ which, given Mitt Romney’s choice of running mate, has become an even more relevant topic.” In the book, everything from air to people to rainwater are up for sale to corporations.
The book, available in paperback and ebook formats, will also be carried by Wellesley Books. It was published via CreateSpace, an Amazon company for self-publishers. Soutter says he hopes to do a book signing in town in coming months.

BTW, how can you have corporations without a government to legally establish and protect them?

Nicholas Soutter says
Because the corporations protect themselves.
All of the large corporations have their own military, and smaller corporations form Karitzu’s, falling under the umbrella of larger ones.

Uh, I get the funny feeling these nice little middle-class college kids have never studied the history of the Labor Movement!
