Wellesley 12-year-old Ben Elwy had the honor of throwing the first pitch at Friday night’s Red Sox-Yankees game at Fenway Park (he’s seen here alongside dad Sherin Elwy). The Sox actually could have used a few more throws from the middle schooler that night, as their pitchers struggled to get the Yankees out.
Elwy takes part in programs (including horse riding) at BiNA Farm, which auctioned off the first pitch prize during a recent event.

Thanks for sharing! Ben’s also an awesome percussionist in the WMS orchestra. Clearly an all-star on and off the field!
Many, many thanks to Azita Bina, Board member of The BiNA Farm, who won this auction item and then gave this once-in-a-lifetime gift to Ben! Special thanks also go to Larry Lucchino of the Red Sox for donating this prize for the auction and making all of this happen in the first place.
Hey Ben, time to suit up! Dempster has been suspended, they need you in the rotation~
